SAFEGUARDING

“The effective protection of minors and a commitment to ensure their human and spiritual development, in keeping with the dignity of the human person, are integral parts of the Gospel message that the Church and all members of the faithful are called to spread throughout the world.”

POPE FRANCIS

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. At Mary Mother of the Church Parish, Macquarie Fields, the safety and wellbeing of every person is our priority.

We recognise that children, young people and adults at risk may need additional care and protection to ensure their safety, dignity and full participation in parish life.

Our priests, employees and volunteers are committed to creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive parish community.

We follow the safeguarding policies, procedures and practices of the Diocese of Wollongong to help prevent abuse and respond appropriately if concerns arise.

Together, we respect the dignity of every person and strive to ensure that everyone can participate in the life of our Church, grow in faith and feel safe, valued and supported.

Safeguarding is not just a policy—it is our shared commitment to care for one another as members of God’s family.
